Zara specializes in working with late talkers with particular emphasis on children growing up in bilingual environments. She is experienced in assessing children with special needs and providing early intervention with autism spectrum disorders, global developmental delay, social interaction difficulties, stammering and articulation difficulties in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. She places great value on the parent-child relationship and is a strong advocate of parents playing central roles in their child’s speech and language development.

Zara is a UK-licensed Speech and Language Therapist and registered with the Health Care Professions Council in the UK. She is a member of both the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists in the UK and the Hong Kong Association of Speech and Language Therapists. 

 

Zara holds a Bachelor's Degree in Linguistics and a Master's Degree in Speech and Language Sciences from University College London, UK. Zara worked at the NHS in London with children under the age of six with particular emphasis on early intervention and early assessments of children with special needs.  Upon her return to Hong Kong, Zara worked at a major non-government organization with English and Cantonese speaking children in clinic and school settings both individually and in groups. Due to her particular interest in working with bilingual children, she worked in Beijing for over a year supporting local and expatriate families across a range of needs and ages in Mandarin and English.
