Moira is deeply passionate about helping to develop resilience in children and young people; seeing first hand the incredible benefits during her many years as a practitioner. She has over 25 years experience in supporting families and is really looking forward to joining the Talk in Action family practice.
Moira trained in the UK, at Manchester Metropolitan University and later at the University of Bristol. She is qualified as a person-centred counsellor, an educational psychologist and also a teacher. She is a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society, a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, a member of the Health Care Professions Council (UK) and also an Associate Fellow of the Hong Kong Psychological Society.
Moira, who is originally from the UK, has previously worked with charities, schools and education authorities. Her broad and varied experience includes working with children of all ages, supporting their emotional needs and dedicating herself to helping them achieve their best outcomes. She is specially trained to work with developmental disorders (ASD and ADHD) and has a keen interest in supporting teens with wellbeing challenges, particularly social anxiety and social communication issues.
For the past 10 years, she has utilised her expertise working for the English Schools Foundation, initially as a consultant Educational Psychologist, whilst taking a leading role developing wellbeing, across the foundation. In the last few years Moira has focussed her skills as Head of Counselling at Renaissance College, where she is very proud to continue to develop and promote wellbeing practices and resilience, for the students and families of the RCHK community.
Using solution focussed and strength based practices, Moira makes a difference to the lives of children and young people, enabling them to flourish and become the best version of themselves. She is determined to continue supporting mental wellbeing for all, wherever she can.

Moira is mum to two lovely teenage boys, and the owner of Poppy the rescue dog. Together with her husband, Tim, she is an avid supporter of animal charities across Hong Kong and enjoys hiking, pottery and choral singing, in her spare time.
